Theunify buttons (Unify Layer Position, Unify Layer Visibility, andUnify Layer Style) in the Layers panel determine how the changesyou make to attributes in the active animation frame apply to theother frames in the same layer. When a unify button is selected, that attribute is changed in all the frames in the active layer;when that button is deselected, changes apply to only the activeframe.

The Propagate Frame 1 option in the Layers panel alsodetermines how the changes you make to attributes in the first framewill apply to the other frames in the same layer. When it is selected, you can change an attribute in the first frame, and all subsequentframes in the active layer will change in relation to the first frame(and preserve the animation you have already created).

Replaces the selected frames with the copied frames. No new layers are added. The properties of each existing layer inthe destination frames are replaced by those of each copied layer. When you paste frames between images, new layers are added to theimage; however, only the pasted layers are visible in the destinationframes (the existing layers are hidden).

Adds the contents of the pasted frames as new layersin the image. When you paste frames into the same image, using thisoption doubles the number of layers in the image. In the destinationframes, the newly pasted layers are visible, and the original layersare hidden. In the non-destination frames, the newly pastedlayers are hidden.

Photoshop's naming scheme was initially based on version numbers, from version 0.07 (codename "Bond"; double-oh-seven), through version 0.87 (codename "Seurat" which was the first commercial version, sold as "Barneyscan XP"), version 1.0 (February 1990) all the way to version 7.0.1. Adobe published 7 major and many minor versions before the October 2003 introduction of version 8.0 which brought with it the Creative Suite branding.

CS2 activation servers' shutdown: In January 2013, Adobe Photoshop CS2 (9.0), with some other CS2 products, was released with an official serial number, due to the technical glitch in Adobe's CS2 activation servers (see Creative Suite 1 and 2).

CS4 features smoother panning and zooming, allowing faster image editing at a high magnification. The interface is more simplified with its tab-based interface[42] making it cleaner to work with. Photoshop CS4 features a new 3D engine allowing the conversion of gradient maps to 3D objects, adding depth to layers and text, and getting print-quality output with the new ray-tracing rendering engine. It supports common 3D formats; the new Adjustment and Mask panels; content-aware scaling (seam carving);[43] fluid canvas rotation and File display options.[44] The content-aware scaling allows users to intelligently size and scale images, and the canvas rotation tool makes it easier to rotate and edit images from any angle.[42]

Three-dimensional images can be created in Photoshop either from scratch, by using Photoshop's pre-configured shapes, or by importing wireframes and rendered artwork from 3D applications such as 3D Studio Max or Maya. 3D modeling in Photoshop is processor-intensive, so if you've seen a message when launching Photoshop about insufficient vRAM, you will not be able to work in 3D. Keep in mind that 3D modeling is a complex topic and volumes have been written about it, so this tutorial is merely an introduction where a 3D object will be created using a second image above the background image layer.

Sara Wade (04:18): And let's just take this down a little bit. So it's a little bit darker. Um, maybe not that dark. Now, you can see that those other layers have different color value to them. So they're behind it and they look 3d. So this is not going to work with everything. You'll see if I go to the side, I can see through those layers, right? That's not quite working. I can see that it's a bunch of things stacked in 3d space, but as long as you're not looking at it from the side, it looks pretty good, right? And this is going to render really fast. No plugins. You use that little script that we put on the position again, that was values zero value, one index times five or 10 or 15 or whatever you want it to be. And I cannot even make this deeper by just copying a whole bunch more. And it's adding and adding. And actually let's undo that I copied the front one, so we didn't get the cool, cool color that we had changed. Let's start here and then copy a whole much more. And it's just getting longer and longer and longer. And as long as everything's parented to that, no, I can rotate that now. And it's going to look very cool, right? Super fast. That is our first way of making 3d texts. Again, we are just stacking layers in 3d space, super, super easy.

Sara Wade (08:10): You will see different options such as opacity and brightness. We're just going to use hue, but feel free to play around with those other options. And I can make it any, anything I want. I just want it a little bit different, maybe something a little bit pink, like, and again, this is the whole side of the 3d. It's an actual extruded side. So when I rotate it, it's not going to go away. We've got that whole side there. So fun, little trick, lots of options to play within here. Again, those steps are, make the text layer, make it 3d, select the cinema 4d renderer drill down into, if we close everything out here, you can see this geometry options. Third thing down and extrusion depth is going to be the key bevel. Again, you can bevel those edges. This is pretty small, probably on your video to see, but you can play around with that. And to get that side color, uh, go into that little arrow to side and color and you can choose some different options, opacity, brightness, different things. We chose Hugh, but play around with that as well. So that is how you make 3d texts using the extrude options.

Sara Wade (13:32): So I'm going to keep it again. I'm going to just see save project here. Control S will work as well. And now when I go back to after effects, you can see it pops in and it's got that color to it. So now that I have this 3d layer, I can do stuff to it. And after effects that I would normally do so I can add, um, some glow to it or some of those other fun effects that you might like to use. I can change the opacity of it. I can do all those fun things. And it's an actual 3d layer. It's an actual 3d file. And again, if you want to change the color of it, you go up to the pen tool and select text. And once you have the text and there's a new text, you can either drag it under an extrude or select the text, hold the alter or option key, go up to this extruded cube looking thing at an extrude. And that is how you create 3d text and after effects using cinema 4d light. That's it easy right now you can make fancy 3d text three different ways. Next time your client says, Hey, I want some 3d texts. You can say, great, no problem. Make sure you subscribe and click the bell icon. So you'll be notified for our next tutorial video. And if you want to really get started in after effects with the help of industry pros, checkout after effects, kickstart, or animation bootcamp from School of Motion.

The trade-off is the new renderer disables a number of 2D-ish features for 3D layers, including masks, effects, blending modes, layer styles, and track mattes: a limitation that hopefully goes away in the future, but which you have to live with for at least this release. You can only choose one 3D renderer per composition, and an Alert dialog appears when you first enable a comp to use the Ray-traced 3D Renderer:

To create new objects in this world, you can choose an individual point, have After Effect triangulate between a trio of points (shown in the figure above), or manually select a group of points to average together for reference. The latter is the preferred approach, as you can explicitly select good track points on a surface (the further apart the better), or select multiple points and let After Effects average them together (it can also automatically reject bad points you might have accidentally selected). You can create text, a null object, or a solid (which you can then swap out for a footage layer) that can be used directly or as a parent for another footage layer. Another new feature in After Effects CS6 is the ability to hold Shift while parenting a layer to another; this zeros out its positional offset, placing it exactly where the null or other parent layer is located.

This means when you boot up After Effects the next day, and open an old project, blue disk cache lines appear where there were green RAM cache lines, as was the case with the screen capture below. Now RAM Previewing just requires retrieving the already-rendered frame from disk, rather than calculating all the layers again from scratch.

You can try going to Help> Deactivate... and clicking to 'permanently deactivate'. Now quit Ps and relaunch; you should get the terms agreement page. Re-enter the serial number when it asks if you want to License and then see if the 3D menu appears. (I've abbrieviated all the actual steps)

Then your only recourse is to call Adobe's Customer Support, because if you bought and paid for an Extended license and you're only getting Standard functionality, they need to issue you a new serial number or throw some switches on their server to correct the issue.

To set our scene lighting, click the Infinite Light 1 layer in the 3D palette. Click and drag the light handle in your 3D view to rotate your light until it is coming from the back left of your object at a low angle. 2ff7e9595c
